I simply love this beautiful map! I bought it for my 3 and my 5 year old children. My child does not read yet. I am glad I got this visually simpler map instead of a more adult version with busy words. The cartoon legends on the map make her want to ask and to learn world geography. I place the map on the wall by the entrance to the kitchen. On the way in or out of kitchen, we enjoy lingering and talking about kangaroos in Australia, diamonds in South Africa, pandas in China and so forth. It is sturdy, richly colorful, a wonderful conversation piece with children (added bonus: seven wonders of the world, biomes, cloud formations, planets) Eeboo products are simply a joy to behold.

This is a very sturdy map and comes with a legend. Children can find something of interest on the legend, then go to the map and find out what countries or country it corresponds to. It also has the planets (but it includes demoted Pluto, which is now considered a dwarf planet). It shows examples of cloud formations in the upper left. It staples quite well to the wall. The gromlets were useless to me, however, but were not needed (perhaps if I'd positioned them over studs). I stapled the legend right next to the map and it's a great conversation piece for kids and parents.

My son loves it. I taped it on the wall next to his bed. He loves to look at it before bedtime and when he wakes up.

I bought this map for my 5 yr old daughters bedroom and she absolutely adores it. My husband and I are dual military and we move around all over the world and this map is great at explaining where dad is going on this next deployment and we mark the places we have been. It's helped her find an interest in geography and now she has a whole lot to talk about!!!

We got this map for a fairly young child (she's only 11 months), but we figured she should start getting used to geography :) She doesn't really care yet, she just likes to play with the laminated things, but I see so much potential down the road when she gets older. The countries have pictures of their "specialties", so you can tell a story to a child and I think it would be easier for them to remember fun facts. There is also a legend that can be used for the map. The laminate is great, I think it will last a few years with supervised use. It will be great to play games later on using this map.

Bought it for my son he is 1 yo now so got it for future. It looks great of the wall, lot of interesting facts and pictures on it. Separate legend is a nice addition. Perfect map to start with.

Great map. All our family lives around the globe so I put this above my son's bed so he can see where they are when we have bedtime prayers. It's a great way to teach kids about geography, and to feel close to others though we are far apart. It goes onto the wall very easily and looks very nice. I just have to make sure his one year old sister doesn't tug at it, but it's lasting up there nicely nevertheless.

Wish this had a much better close up view so I could have seen it in more detail before I bought it. Took a chance and regret it - this is probably useful for 5 and under. After that, you have to get a real map.

I purchased two maps, one for my DS and another as a gift. This one was a gift, because it is sturdy, has special holes so you can hang them on the wall, and it comes in a special case. But it was less attractive to me, when I saw it on the wall, it is too childish, so, when your kid turns 4, you'll have to find something for bigger kids. I wouldn't bought it, and not recommending either.
