5.0 out of 5 stars WHAT A CONCEPT...NON-CHEESY NEW AGE!!!
El Hadra is a loop of hypnotic soundscape that subtly immerses the listener. The tempo is slightly below the normal human heartrate, so it naturally induces an almost trance-like state, and slows down the breathing. It is very soothing, but filled with musical sophistication and intrigue. An ideal accompaniment during a yoga practice, espeically as the total CD time...

2.0 out of 5 stars Although the song was marked as a 52-minute piece of music, it was actually a 26 minutes musice pasting together.
Basically it was a 25 minutes of music fadding out and repeat. I much rather having it as a 25 minute music than having no choice but have to press stop at 25 minutes. I use it to teach yoga and would like to not repeat the music. With the way that CD comes, can't really incorperate in my ipod playlist. The extra CD was an advertising for other musicians. They are a...

5.0 out of 5 stars WHAT A CONCEPT...NON-CHEESY NEW AGE!!!, January 2, 2003
This review is from: el-Hadra (the Mystik Dance) (Audio CD)
El Hadra is a loop of hypnotic soundscape that subtly immerses the listener. The tempo is slightly below the normal human heartrate, so it naturally induces an almost trance-like state, and slows down the breathing. It is very soothing, but filled with musical sophistication and intrigue. An ideal accompaniment during a yoga practice, espeically as the total CD time clocks in at just under an hour, giving time at the completion of the practice for a silent music-free savasana.

The only complaint I have with it is that the track listing states that there are two tracks on the disc, but as it turns out the second track is just the first track repeated. Though I understand that the idea was for one continuous flow of rhythm, any CD player is equipped with a means of programming this; so a different, "true" second-track - especially since this is a full-price .... would have been appropraite,

Nonetheless, it's new age the way new age was meant to be had it not been ruined by the synthesizer and electronic studio trickery (as well as inept, untalented "musicians" with no concept of musical theory). A great peice that I've been playing regularly for over a year now and I have yet to get tired of.

An excellent background for massage, yoga, tai chi, cooking, gardening, writing,--anything that requires you to be "in the present moment". Wonderful to sleep to. I can put this cd on repeat and never grow tired of it. This music builds, breathes, and moves with a beautiful grace. One of my favorites!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful trance-inducing music, August 16, 2004
This review is from: el-Hadra (the Mystik Dance) (Audio CD)
This cd is perfect for meditation, massage, yoga, falling to sleep, or almost anything.. Induces a trance-like state in whatever you're doing. Perfect, beautiful music--HIGHLY reccommended!
*(the only negative about it is that it is only like a half-hour long--wish it was longer!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Slight correction to Adam David's review, September 16, 2005
This review is from: el-Hadra (the Mystik Dance) (Audio CD)
I agree with most things the first reviewer, Adam, said about this CD. However, the second cut is NOT the first cut repeated. Oh, I admit one has to be paying quite a lot of attention to tell the difference, but they are two different albeit extremely similar pieces. Perhaps I've been listening too much and too closely. I've given it five stars because it's great for yoga, concentration and relaxation. But if you don't have the patience and stillness for trance-inducing music, this sort of thing will drive you crazy and make you fidget and you'll wonder how anyone could have given it even a piece of a star.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Meditation and Yoga Music, December 31, 2005
This review is from: el-Hadra (the Mystik Dance) (Audio CD)
I love Klaus Wiese's music. It is enchanting and deeply spiritual, subtle and gentle, it enlightens your entire being. Zen without words. You can let go of everything that is in the way... music to get 'out of your mind'. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite new-age backround music, October 13, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: el-Hadra (the Mystik Dance) (Audio CD)
The CD jacket describes el-Hadra as "the rythmic trance meditation of the Sufis". The musicians are German, and play Tabla, Zither, and keyboard. The music has quite a hypnotic pull, and this is probably my top-favorite "new-age" CD. Originally, we used it often for backround during classes at the Tai Chi school I attend. I particularly enjoy listening to it late at night in bed.

This CD is absolutely perfect for any mood you are in, or want to get in---I use it for yoga and tai chi. The best thing, though, is my "intimate time" with my man.....light a few candles, put on this CD, dance.....it is VERY sensual. I will never tire of this recording. I do wish it were longer, but I'm happy with this as it is. I highly recommend this to enhance your spirituality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Music to reduce your stress., February 15, 2007
This review is from: el-Hadra (the Mystik Dance) (Audio CD)
The beat of this music has a calming effect, not unlike that of a deep meditative state. It's constant soothing rhythm reminds me of a heartbeat. I use it regularly to reduce my stress and bring myself back to my center, sheding new light on difficult personal situations. I deep a few copies of this on hand to give away as I am often asked about it.

This is my favorite piece of music. Musical sophistication and complexity spun into a harmonius sound that compells surrender. A must have to reconnect with yourself or your lover. Invokes softening. Its YUMMY!
