When designing the Slim Stylus, Elago went with something sleek, stylish, and functional. The Slim, made from solid aluminum, was created to be compact and durable.

Customer Reviews

This stylus has a nice firm feel to its tip and fits perfectly in the hand.
Mai Ching
This stylus is very comfortable and the rubber tip allows you to apply the exact amount of pressure to whatever screen that I am using.
Gregory Smith
The reason I didn't give it one star is because it has a spare tip and the product actually looks good.

This is exactly what I was looking for -- a stylus that was not too short, not too long, high quality construction, and didn't have a clip on it (while useful for hanging or storing in a shirt pocket, when writing it is very irritating in my hand). Stylus tip has just enough friction and is just the right rigidity -- I had a Targus stylus I tried before this and it had too soft a tip. Bonus for also having the ability to replace the tip when it wears out (I don't know of any other stylus that can do this) -- and it even comes with an extra tip.

While I haven't used all the styluses out there, compared to the ones I have used, this is by far the best one.

I have fat fingers, so prefer to use a stylus on my iPad, and the elago is the fourth brand of styli I've tried. The others are branded Nataal, Kensington, and BoxWave. Capacitive styli tips are necessarily fat for technological reasons, and they wear out or lose their effectiveness over time. Wacom makes an expensive (list price $29.95) capacitive stylus the tips of which are replaceable, but as far as I can determine, they do not ship with an extra tip or tips.

I think it is unfortunate that most capacitive styli are marketed in a way that burdens consumers with having to constantly replace them with brand new ones, which would not be the case if, like mechanical pencils and many ordinary pens (ballpoint, fountain, etc.), replacement tips (or leads, refills, etc.) were readily available at reasonable prices. So kudos to elago for at least selling three models of styli (the Slim, Grip and Rustic) with replaceable tips and including a replacement tip. I say at least because at present, elago Replaceable Tips have a list price of $9.99 with Amazon's selling price being $4.99, and I think both prices are too high.

elago Stylus Slim for iPhone 3GS/ 4, iPad and Galaxy -World First Replaceable Tip (Extra Rubber Tip included) - Silver

Okay honestly I did my best research to find that "stylus" that would work with my sketch apps, and as luck would have it I came across this stylus. Honestly though this product had only 5 reviews It was a gamble versus the average of 73+ reviews averaging for 4 stars for the other elago stylus. Having what you can do with a pen instead of your fingers makes it a completely comfortable and smooth experience. As mentioned it runs smooth on sketch apps and glides with control on my IPhone 4s screen. I have an Itouch and it works well on that. Not to mention I was surprised that it works well even with a protective screen (which both of my idevices have). And if that doesn't convince you it also works (bafflingly) good on the laptop touchpad.

It does glide using a soft rubber tip, but that shouldnt be taken as a con.

Definitely worth the buy. About the size of a mechanical pencil with the feel of a small matte steel
tube.

Seriously this pen could replace my Intuos4 WACOM tablet if it felt like it.

I have tried a number of styli, most of which needed replaced between the two to three month mark due to the tip loosing it's slick silicone feel and becoming, for lack of a better word... tacky. In a couple cases, the tip actually ripped.

I would like to point that I use the stylus mostly for drawing, less frequently for taking notes. I've use my finger in all other cases, I just cannot get used to writing or drawing with my finger. I would never think of using a stylus to play a game, or in an application where reaction time was of importance.

I have been using this stylus for two and a half months now and have yet to replace the original tip. The tip still has the slick feel and still skates smoothly across the screen. The barrel is not heavy and a nice length for my medium size hand. The tip is more firm than the tip of the Bamboo stylus, so those with a heavier hand will not `bottom out' as easy. The tip is just a bit smaller diameter than the barrel, so you'd have to be writing at a very shallow angle in order to scrape the metal shaft against your glass screen. I have made scratches with other stylus where the shaft is much thicker than the tip.

I have but two suggestions/concerns, one of which I have found a solution. The first concern is where will I be able to buy more replacement tips? One extra tip is included with the stylus, but eventually I will need another. The second concern was the lack of a clip. I found a clip from an old drafting pencil (lead holder) works just fine.

Bottom line... For the price difference between this and other more expensive styli, this gem is definitely worth a try. I personally use this stylus more than my other more expensive ones. I hope this helps.
