A model enthusiast's guide to motors.,
By A Customer
This review is from: The electric motor handbook: The complete handbook of high performance D.C. motors (Paperback)
This book provides practical information good for understanding the operation of small model (planes, boats and cars) motors. While much of the information is applicable to larger motors, this book is really written with the hobbyist mind.

Technical and outdated,
By William Corsair "Will" (Leavenworth County, KS USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The electric motor handbook: The complete handbook of high performance D.C. motors (Paperback)
There's a newer version of this book but it's unavailable on amazon (only through the publisher). Unfortunately, the book is very technical and only of limited use to radio control hobbyists. At that, it's not very well written. For example, the author never defines the term "volt" either in the text or in the glossary. He lamely defines volt in the glossary in the old analogy of water pressure from a garden hose. What? It's too bad because the author knows his subject inside and out--he just writes and explains poorly. The book is in serious need of a technical editor. |
