The shipping was really fast....it didn't take more than 3 or 4 days to arrive. The book it's not GREAT...but it helps with the trainning process. My daugther is 16 months and she is doing very well with the trainning. I started teaching her to use the big potty (toilet) when she was 15 months and now (a month later) she sits on the big potty without any problems(I also bought the baby BJORN potty seat $30 wich is GREAT...PERFECT....and THE POTTY STOOL $99. I HIGHLY recommend both). Of course my daughter has had many, many uncontable accidents...but that is what is all about. If she does not have accidents...how will she be aware of what's going on with her body? We (my husband and I) take advantage of accidents as an oportunity to teach her in a positive way where mommy and daddy sit when they need to, after the accidents happen we take her to the toilet and sit her on her potty seat (Bjorn seat adapts to the big toilet) we just tell her "that's ok...we will try harder next time". I personally think that books help but the most important thing you can do for your baby is being patient and understanding...it's a long process. Trust your baby's ability to sit on the big potty...teaching her (him) to sit on the toilet won't hurt them , on the contrary it will save you time and energy in the future and you can be sure they will learn if you are patient. I repeat, Dora's book it's not great but it helped my daughter making the connetion that other "kids" like Dora use the big potty too. And remember that books are just tools we use but you still need to do the job...you are the best book your child can learn from. Goog luck!
