i am finishing up reading the whole Bible.
and i found way too many errors, contradictions, and omissions.

our preacher man says they really dont exist and he will respond only to specific ones. way too many to take that path.

does anyone have a general method to handle all the issues that are obvious?
and what about the subtle ones that take deeper research and analysis ??

too many people merely deny they exist and illogically assume that every word is literally 100% true when that is provably false using the Bible itself.

clearly there are allegories, parables, exaggerations, yada yada. the contradictions are there in black and white if you read it. samuel says elhanon killed goliath. QED.

our preacher guy wont even tell us his view of hermeneutics to help us understand some of his wild and apparently contradictory claims. that would add another dimension to sorting out the truth when you have to also decide which hermunetics approach is valid.

does anyone have a general method to read this and sort it all out to understand the actual truth and avoid the man made bulloney that has been attributed to the Bible ?

i do not have any faith in any individual human to do it 100% accurately.

An interesting "drive by" penning or rant, but designed to generate more heat than light I suspect.
Instead of telling us about some unknown (and unquoted) "preacher guy" why don't you add a list of the "way too many errors, contradictions, and omissions" you found. Not a copy and paste of someone else's list. YOUR list. Then those who want to respond to your facts/opinions could do so. Unless you don't want them to. In that case, fallacy on. :-)

You are absolutely right there are many conflicting verses in the Bible. The holy scripture is a revelation from God and should be impossible to contain mistakes. That is because it is been changed by humans. In Quran 2:79 Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands, and then say:"This is from Allah," to traffic with it for miserable price!- Woe to them for what their hands do write, and for the gain they make thereby.
But Quran which was revealed more than 1400 years ago until today no one in the world has ever find a single mistake or contradiction. It is not only that , it has revealed scientific fact only recently scientist found it. In Quran is mentioned 4:82 Do they not consider the Qur'an (with care)? Had it been from other Than Allah, they would surely have found therein Much discrepancy.

jpl: Horse, this isn't just a factoid (trivial fact). You are correct. The books of the sacred bible (book) have thousands of contradictions. Books are written about it. The number of errors and contradictions are so numerous that nobody knows just how many there are, but they have been numbered in the thousands.

You must study the holy books from the indifferent perspective of biblical scholars. Seek out books that don't try to prove the holy books by using the holy books themselves to prove what they say. That's absurd, but that's exactly what most people who believe in the holy books do.

At the time that Constantine had the pagan catholic cult "pick" the books that would officially make catholicism THE pagan cult, and eventually the pagan protestant cult, estimates by scholars on the subject suggest that the holy books were culled by that pagan catholic cult from some 600 books. That's not a typo.

Furthermore, many theologians themselves do not "believe in" the holy books. They've studied christian history too much to accept that pagan cult.

The Quran states that sperm comes from the backbone. Sounds like a "single" mistake to anyone who has studied anatomy
