Emily and Tash are delighted to be on their own in an apartment while their parents are on assignment. Clare Corbett precisely captures the teenaged girls' emotions as they discover the good and bad of being independent, meeting the right boy, and going to a big party. Corbett uses subtler tones as their quieter, so-called "weird," sister lands a great boyfriend. Ure and Corbett are a wonderful team. The story is most entertaining when the kids are being reprimanded by a teacher who has a voice like a machine gun. This is a fun coming-of-age story for listeners going through that very thing. Product Description
Even though Tash and Emily go to an all girls' school, they are into boys in a BIG WAY. They're also stepsisters and the best of friends. So when their mom and dad have to go Peru for work for a couple of months, leaving the girls in their own flat in Aunty Jay's house, they are seriously excited. Of course they've got to take their weird elder sister, Ali, hundreds of her Star Trek videos, and Fat Man the cat, but apart from that they are INDEPENDENT GIRLS. And when they find out that there's a dishy boy living in the flat downstairs, they just can't believe their luck.
