5.0 out of 5 stars Just the facts ma'am...My right-hand book!, February 25, 2004
If you're just starting off with indoor houseplants, this is the one book to buy. It recommends twenty "no-hassle" easy-grow plants, with a few extra-easy plants spotlighted, plus an extra section on popular plants that are...well, not so easy. Don't be fooled by the early 70's hippie-trippy line drawings and casual style, this really is all you need to know about starting with plants!

A few cautions though. First, she is not as organic as some people nowadays would have us be: she even discusses pesticides (though she mostly recommends against them). Secondly, some of these plants aren't available, or available under other names nowadays. It would help if she included a bibliography. But otherwise, it's a great book. I long for its reprinting.
