Kindergarten-Grade 2-- A look at the experiences and excitement of gymnastics lessons through the eyes of a young beginning gymnast. A light sense of humor is apparent as the boy tells about his lessons. The dialogue and narrative style is clear, lively, and quite engaging. Beautiful full-color photographs of children participating in the class are found on every page. Simple tumbling and equipment skills are presented along with safety procedures on appropriate clothing, spotting, and sequencing of skills. This is sure to appeal to children interested in this sport, and with the Summer Olympics of 1992 at hand, it would be an appropriate book for spectators. --Janice C.
