Editorial Reviews
From Publishers Weekly
This sometimes informative though mostly scattered and base kitchen guide is aimed at the uncouth male teenager, college student, or even a hopeless adult singleton. Earl, who refers to himself as the "Martha Stewart of youth culture," certainly targets his audience: he explains how to cook with an iron or on the manifold of a car; how to use a helmet as a bowl for chips; and how to turn a surfboard into a dining table, and how to burp properly. In the same pages, however, he also offers instructions on chopstick etiquette, proper table settings (including information on such arcane instruments as a bone marrow spoon), and the do's and don'ts of fondue. Featured throughout are more than 50 recipes from extreme athletes-some horrific (French toast with Ketchup from snowboarder Shaun Palmer), others less so (Mediterranean Risotto from skier Jimbo Morgan).

From Library Journal
Earl is the producer of various USA and ESPN extreme sports shows. His cookbook features recipes (or sort of recipes) from 50 extreme-sports "superstars," along with their suggestions on such techniques as waxing a surfboard, etiquette lessons from Earl ("Your New Best Friend: The Napkin"), and sidebars and boxes on various other topics, including several on bodily functions. Are fans of extreme sports waiting for a cookbook from their heroes? Perhaps. Buy for demand.
