4.0 out of 5 stars A light read, adventure, action, and drama packed . . ., March 22, 2009
Acorna is definitely not in the same league as McCaffery's Dragon Riders of Pern series; however, McCaffery's fans should find it a satisfying read. I started the book in the evening on Christmas Eve, and made it about half way through before deciding I better get some sleep. I read about another third in between turkey basting, and finished if off by the end of the evening. This is very light; yet adventure, action, and drama packed reading. Not all of the plot twists and turns are predictable, which keeps it interesting. The Unicorn Girl is of an unknown species, found adrift in a space pod as an infant. As she matures, she champions the cause of child laborers on an impoverished and under-developed planet. The happy ending is sure to bring you sweet dreams . . .

5.0 out of 5 stars All Anne McCaffrey fans get this book NOW!, April 22, 1999
By A Customer
Hey, when I read this book, it kicked me into high gear for hell. Pal is practically in love with Acorna: so WHY WON'T HE ADMIT IT?!? It's that blasted obvious. Anyway, it rules. I liked the illustrations.
