Editorial Reviews

Product Description
Ashleigh's determined to make her dreams come true...

In her second year of racing, Wonder, the Thoroughbred filly Ashleigh Griffen has helped raise, is the star of Townsend Acres Stables -- until the worst happens.

Just as Wonder is about to start training for the important Breeder's Cup race, Ally, Wonder's regular jockey, is injured and can't ride. Wonder doesn't like any other jockey, and she won't perform.

Only one person can ride Wonder now, and that's Ashleigh. She's never ridden in a race, but she's Townsend Acres' only hope. Can Ashleigh's dreams and Wonder's trust carry these two unlikely contestants into the winner's circle?

Read Thoroughbred and experience the love and friendship between a determined girl and a very special filly.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best!, March 4, 2000
By A Customer
I loved Wonder's Victory! Personally it is my favorite Thoroughbred book. Even though Wonder wins the Kentucky Derby in Wonder's First Race, I just like this one better. It is so good, especially since Joanna Campbell wrote it (though the next generation books are getting better, book by book). And also since this is the last book totally about Wonder and Ashleigh (#5 is only mostly about Ashleigh, then #6 is about Samantha). This book was wonderful!

5.0 out of 5 stars a WONDERful book for anyone, January 14, 2003
A Kid's Review
If you like friendship and trust, but you absolutley love adventure, this is the book for you. There are lots of chills, like a mysterious problem with Wonder right before a big race. You will really like how Ashliegh handles problems with her life.
But when Wonder's jockey gets injured, who will ride Wonder. She is really tempermental, and won't run with any other jockeys. What will they do now? This book WILL suck you up, and you won't want to give it up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hands down the best in the series!, July 25, 2002
By "piaffe417" (Horton, Michigan United States) - See all my reviews
I began reading the Thoroughbred series at the age of 12. I'm now 21 and stopped reading them when they started to make the transition from Cindy being the main character to Christina. The books simply became too formulaic and unrealistic (and I never did like Cindy anyway - sorry). But to this day, when I think of the Thoroughbred series this is the book I think of. Ashleigh and Wonder were the core and the heart of everything (to say nothing of the fact that they were the reason the series exists today) and this book was the culmination of their hard work and struggle. When I turned the last page and finished, I couldn't help but feel that if the series were to end there, I could let it go feeling satisfied that all was right with the world. So if you only read 4 books in the Thoroughbred series, make it the first 4 and laugh and cry along with Ashleigh, Charlie, Wonder, and family.
