Product Description

Still reeling but rebuilding after Katrina's fury, New Orleans braces for another major hurricane heading her way. But a far greater threat is looming on the horizon—a manmade terror storm that will dwarf the destructive force of anything Mother Nature could have devised.

Following a tip, agent Jack Bauer has come to the Big Easy—and watches helplessly as two prime players representing America's most dangerous Latin American adversaries fall in a surprising hail of gunfire. With winds rapidly approaching gale force, the rogue CTU operative must now follow the blood trail to a completely unexpected source. Because in less than 24 hours, a ruthless enemy hiding among "friends" plans to take out the already damaged Crescent City—and deliver a staggering blow from which the U.S. "Satan" may never recover.

1.0 out of 5 stars I agree, April 22, 2009
Glad to see I wasn't the only one who didn't like this book. It was a history of every area instead of our action packed 24. I couldn't even finish reading it as I got bored. I agree with everyone else so won't duplicate. And I see he's written another one! Wish I could have done No stars.

1.0 out of 5 stars Appalling writing makes this book terribly disappointing, February 7, 2008
By S. Love (Columbus, OH USA) - See all my reviews

This book is terribly disappointing, even though I am a huge 24 fan. The writing is appalling and as a result, it nearly impossible to stay interested. I had to fight the urge to copy edit and return a marked up copy to the publisher. It is filled with hyperbole, incomplete sentences and unrelenting (and often unnecessary) descriptions that could be handled far better through dialogue and action. If you are looking for a good 24 book, try any but this one as most of them are decent. With such a powerful franchise it's incredible that such poor writing would make it into print. That said, it would be an excellent example for any writing class of what not to do.

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful, February 20, 2008
By Saul M. Davidson "SMD" (Cape Neddick, ME USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is the first Amazon.com review I have written. And I have to side with all the other negative reviews on "Storm Force." I have read every "Declassified" novel to date and they were top notch. I'm not sure if David Jacobs read the novels the preceded his but his writing in the "real time" essense of Jack Bauer just isnt there. Fans who were used to seeing the time & location updates in the chapters dont get that luxury in this book. Like the other reviews state, there is so much back story in this book. And its very easy to get lost. There is no flow. No Bauer stream of action. Infact, this book would've done better as a Tony Almeida story. It almost wasnt worth Jack showing up. Another downfall is that this tale is more recent in the world of 24. It is post Hurricane Katrina, and post Minneapolis bridge disaster. I liked how the other novels were presented as events happening before the series on TV started. It kind of makes for a questionable timeline. Anyways... this was defintely not my favorite and I would hope that David Jacobs goes on to other projects outside the realm of 24.

1.0 out of 5 stars Can't even compare to other books
This book was the worst 24 Declassified book to date. While having a new author in the series may be the main cause of that, it's not an exuse I'm willing to listen to. Read more

I agree with the other reviews...Skip this book, do not waste your time. John Whitman and Marc Cerasini are 1000 times better than Jacobs.
