Product Description
The ultimate consumer guide to the 100 best associate and affiliate programs on the Internet and how to profit from them. Here's the dollars-and-sense lowdown on associate/affiliate programs, the newest way for anyone with a web site to make money. These programs let individuals make money from the heavy-hitters, who pay a commission to associated sites for click-throughs, leads, and sales transactions. These programs aren't always as easy or lucrative as they seem.

This book shows how to latch onto the associate and affiliated programs that offer the most benefits. Now Dan Gray gives you the answers to the questions people care about most: is signing up worth it (are the terms too draconian): which sites are legitimate and which aren't? how can you accurately estimate whether you'll make $20 a month, or $200, or $2000? how do you encourage people on your site to click through to another? The book also ranks the 100 top programs by key criteria--including ease of use, payout, and pass-through rates--creating an invaluable resource for everyone with a Website of their own.

From the Back Cover
Everything You Need to Start Earning Click-through Cash and Big Rewards! As unbelievable as it may seem, you could be earning royalties from such blockbuster Internet companies as Amazon. com, CDnow.com, Disney.com, and hundreds of others through the rapidly-developing field of associate/affiliate marketing. You don't have to be a technical wizard, and you don't have to quit your job. Make money simply by allowing any of these incredibly lucrative comapnies to promote and sell their immensely popular products through your website.

The Complete Guide to Associate and Affiliate Programs on the Net introduces you to 100 great partnership programs with some of the biggest and best Internet companies, programs that can bring you $20, $200, even $2,000 or more each month. Best-selling author and computer expert Daniel Gray shows you how to earn an honest dollar on the Net without spam, scam, or sleaze. This revealing book explains how to:
Choose the associate/affiliate program that's right for your site;
Use Web space provided by your ISP or online communities;
Make your links productive;
Steer traffic to your site;
Build a "sticky" Website that keeps you in touch with your audience;
Attract repeat visitors;
Keep track of the numbers;
Generate great ideas for new money-making Web pages;
Learn how to make it work with fourteen real-life website case studies.

The Complete Guide to Associate and Affiliate Programs on the Net gives you everything you need to sift through the bonanza of associate/affiliate programs on the Web and make one (or more) start creating revenue for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars You need this book., April 3, 2000
By Donald J. Berg (Rockville Centre, NY USA) - See all my reviews

I'm lucky enough to have some books listed on Amazon.com. One day I noticed that sales just jumped. I found out that Dan Gray had listed one of my titles on his website and was selling it through Amazon.com's Associate program. Dozens of other websites had done the same but none boosted sales the way Dan's did.

When I learned that Dan had written this book, I had to get it. Those jumping book sales meant that this was somebody who knew what he was writing about.

The advice in this book helped my son and I design, set up and promote a new website and affiliate program. The hints on getting listed with search engines got our little site noticed fast. Dan Gray has tried and tested his ideas. This is how-to information that works. If you're planning a website and thinking about affiliate sales programs, you need this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Refer-it.com suggests this book for Web marketers, December 14, 1999
By Shawn Collins (New York, NY) - See all my reviews
Author Daniel Gray provides a good background of the affiliate industry and why you should, at least, consider selling products and services from your site through the affiliate model. In addition to some merchant profiles and affiliate success stories, "The Complete Guide..." features a directory of the top 100 affiliate programs with contact information, commission structures, and all of the other relevant details of each program.

The book also touches on the importance of obtaining top listings in the search engines and directories, as well as tips on building a quality site. Overall a good introduction to the potentially lucrative world of affiliate programs.

2.0 out of 5 stars wading through the fluff..., February 14, 2000
By "buywhiz" (newark, ca United States) - See all my reviews
Don't waste your MONEY on this book. Even for beginners I can't comprehend the previous rave reviews...hmmm...makes you wonder. The first 1/3 of this book is decent but extremely watered -down, the breadth of the definitions and explanations can be found in just about any simple search for "affiliate programs" in any search engine. A 1/3 of this book is just affiliate profiles by company(these can be esily viewed at the affiliate company's site), the last 1/3 of this book are just company histories of those affiliates(good if you haven't read those twinkling success stories in all the other books that use them, useless if you are interested in fundamental strategies to fully capitilize on affiliate programs for yourself (something that is loosely referred to in this book). Although resources on this subject are limited, I would recommend online info as they seem to have the most current affiliate info. One good site that i found valuable info is at:

http://www.blue-house.com/affiliate/

Save your money for a useful book and find the latest info online...
