2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, January 27, 2008
I have to agree with the first two reviewers ("hargmeiner" and "docjuanna"). My previous experience with Lange series books, and CMDT in particular, has been very positive. However, this current (2008) edition of CMDT has several chapters (more than the 2007 edition) available only online, AND for the very first time, the online access is $79 extra. Many texts are moving to "editions" but most have an option of doing either both (print + online) together or just the (COMPLETE) book in print. This edition of CMDT sets a new (sub)standard: either both, or LESS than the complete print version. I will no longer recommend this book to my students (I teach at a College of Pharmacy). Hope the publisher, and authors are listening!

1.0 out of 5 stars No free Online access anymore. Important chapters not included in Print Version 2008 , December 13, 2007
I am very disappointed.
There are some important topics only available within the Online Edition. Antibiotics by example. That's ridiculous. In former Editions you got free Online Access to CMDT. But with the 2008 Edition it's over. You must pay $ 79.- for one year Online Access in addition to the book price. This seemed ok, if the same topics in medicine were included in the Print version as well. Only updated on a regular basis in the Online Version. But if I want to know something e.g. about antibiotics, I must buy the Online Version, I have no choice.
I have sent back this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Buyer's Remorse, November 26, 2007
By docjuanna (Pittsburgh, PA, USA) - See all my reviews
This book was a total waste of money. I remember the CMDT series being really good before, but the content/information in this volume is very sparse- no algorithms, etc. as I expected-- even common topics like thyroid disease are poorly done. I was very disappointed. I'll stick to online sources like Up to Date...
