4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good, September 18, 2000
By Paul Klan (Evansville, KY) - See all my reviews
I thought this book did a fair job in covering the Administrative issues concerning setting up IIS 5.0. If you are just entering into managing a Web server on the Windows 2000 platform, then this book can get you started with the concepts and running productively in short amount of time. The book also does well providing you with external resources for information, as well as a good troubleshooting chapter. I thought it was worth the money I spent on it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Thought their IIS4 book was good and so is this one, September 19, 2000
By A Reader (CA, United States) - See all my reviews
I have eight Windows 2000 books. This is the ONLY one of those that covered how to install and configure Certificate Services AND how to deploy and install client certificates. This is rather important for a Web server. The book is clear and concise and covers the major topics needed by most IIS5 Administrators. It is a bit weak on true server security lock-down and ASP but there are other books for that anyway.

4.0 out of 5 stars Serves its purpose, September 22, 2000
By Justin M. Law (Leesburg, VA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I liked this booked because it gave me a quick overview of what each option means and what it is used for. Precisely why other people graded it down. I bought it because it was the only book out there on the subject and in browsing it I found it fit my needs. I think it is unfair to downgrade the book because it is not in depth enough. I did not want an MCSE study book, I just wanted a book that filled in the gaps as I set up my web server. This book was exactly what I needed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I thought
Not very technical. If you're a beginner this book helps get your feet wet. If you any experience with IIS look elsewhere.

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless
This looks like a re-edited IIS 4 book. A very important new feature for II5, Load Balancing, was mentioned w/o explaination on one page. waste of money.
