5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic! A must have volume on terrorism., November 5, 2001
By Ramona S. Sherman (Trumbull, CT) - See all my reviews
This is "THE" book on terrorism. It truly has everything from cyber to biological and chemical terrorism and most importantly - how to deal with the consequences. It also includes the federal response plan, internet addresses for terrorism web sites, and the U.S. Government Interagency Domestic Terrorism Concept of Operations Plan for 2001. The simulations at the end of the chapters are excellent and thought-provoking. This book should be in the hands of every citizen, not just every cop, firefighter, EMT, and city planner in the country. A top notch job! The authors credentials are incredible as well as their contributors. The most comprehensive volume on the topic in print. A must have.

"Understanding Terrorism and Managing the Consequences" is de'rigour for anyone in private industry, public service, emergency management, PD, FD or EMS. It is the "GO-TO" book no matter if you are the "newbie" or the seasoned veteran.

It is a 10 STAR choice in my opinion. I have recommended it to services I have consulted with around the globe.

5.0 out of 5 stars Effective and operational powerful teaching and tool, September 7, 2002
This book is fantastic. It articulates the issues in a discussional format and make sense of the many confusing topics of terrorism planning and response.

I like the fact that the authors have taken the time to include a very robust reference appendix section. It has proven to be unquestionably my go to book on this subject matter.

In addition to the front matter which is invaluable, I now have to only grab one book to reference the myriad of references, case in point is the streamlined access to federal response plan, MSDS sheets, radiological references etc.

If you are an operator, supervisor, manager, planner or instructor this text is for you!
