5.0 out of 5 stars Well thought out, July 7, 2009
This was a well thought out book; I was required to purchase it for an Estimating College course, and found it to be self explanatory. This would be an invaluable book for any contractor wanting to improve their estimating abilities, and a must read for general contractors looking to refine their bidding techniques.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Irony of Estimating..., March 21, 2007
By VJ "thing2202" (Michigan, USA) - See all my reviews
Yes this book contains just about every material involved in building a structure and has many formulas to figure out anything you could possibly imagine, from materials to labor. The downfall is in the review questions and exercises dealing with the provided blueprints, which are very vague and difficult to interpret, thus making any of your estimating practice next to useless. There's got to be a better book out there...

4.0 out of 5 stars A good cost estimating overview - but lacking in analysis of productivity and profit analysis.
The chapters, which roughly correspond to the CSI format, was a good structure. The coverage of each of the topics was competent and understandable. Read more
