Product Description
This book is a study of political ideology in two related but distinct Malay communities--in Peninsular Malaya and East Sumatra--at a time of political ferment in the years immediately following the Second World War. Omar analyzes particularly the shift in focus from the kerajaan (the condition of having a raja) to alternatives such as the community and nationality in Malaya, and nationalism in East Sumatra.
