Product Description

Building high levels of reliability into components and products is one of the most critical aspects of design and production in today's manufacturing world, where quality has a direct impact on competitive advantage. Comprehensive, thorough, and totally up to date with the latest developments in the field, Reliability Engineering is the only book to approach the topic from an engineering vantage point, describing reliability engineering's role in the various phases of development - from early design through production, assembly, and maintenance. The book covers every aspect of the field, including the basic calculations for reliability estimation, the construction and application of the likelihood function in estimating the parameters of a failure time distribution, and even the science of ensuring reliability objectives through preventive maintenance and warranties. In particular, you will appreciate the thorough coverage of parametric and nonparametric reliability models. Accelerated life testing, one of the most important developments in the field, is covered in depth. Every theory presented is followed by an engineering example to illustrate its application, and an entire chapter devoted to case studies demonstrates how the methods discussed in the book are used to solve real-life situations.Special software included with the book will enable you to apply a variety of reliability models, including parametric, nonparametric, and accelerated life testing. Together, the comprehensive coverage, current information, and valuable software make this package an indispensable resource for anyone involved in reliability engineering. 0201634813B04062001

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a book worth of keeping for a reliability practioner, November 19, 1999
By A Customer
The book provides a comprehensive knowledge on reliability analysis. I rarely see a book like this in terms of the non-parametric model analysis.

4.0 out of 5 stars Highly technical, and comprehensive, June 16, 2002
By "billmccu" (United States) - See all my reviews
This book is an in-depth text on the subject. It has a very good coverage of the underlying mathematics fundamentals of Reliability Engineering. Full of good examples, and case studies.
Software is not very useful, but decent considering it is free.
