From Library Journal
The Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) is a New York-based nonprofit organization that develops and administers study, work, and voluntary service programs throughout the world. This book is CIEE's listing of "learning" vacation opportunities overseas. More than 200 entries are listed alphabetically, running the gamut from "Above the Clouds Trekking Tours" to the Zoological Society of Philadelphia's "Wildlife Workshops." Each entry succinctly lists information on eligibility, location, accommodations, duration, cost, and (rather tellingly) the average age of participants. No qualitative judgments are made about the programs. Indexes break down the entries according to study subjects and geographical locations. At the front of the book, helpful general information is given on choosing a program, preparing for it, and making travel arrangements. Recommended for academic and public libraries.
