5.0 out of 5 stars Citizenship in Practice, January 12, 2008
By Mark Singer (Silicon Valley, CA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I bought this book for my eldest son during his senior year in High School. He is now passing it on to my #2 son, who graduates this year.

My own interest in the rights and priveleges of citizenship started in High School, and I want to enourage nothing less in my own children. The subject of this book, freedom of speech, is an important part of citizenship, and is also near and dear to most teen-ager's hearts.

Although written essentially in text-book style, the book is immenently readable, and covers issues that are meaningful to young adults as they search for their place in society.

This is a comprehensive work on the First Amendment. It is a must for anyone interested in Free Speech. I especially liked the chapters on the multicultural history of free expression...really something for everyone.
