From Library Journal
This book by Morrow (coauthor of Shooting Sports for Women, LJ 10/1/96) is mostly instruction, partly encouragement, and partly tales of her fly-fishing trips to New Brunswick's Miramichi River or saltwater fishing in coastal Texas. She offers clear discussions of equipment and fish habits, but readers following the casting illustrations would be better served by the many good videos available. The text suffers from poor organization and some ungainly repetition (e.g., Morrow explains catch-and-release three times). As for instruction specific to women, the author recommends lighter tackle and lighter gear and advises on hair and makeup, but most information is universal and amply covered by general fishing books. A good 38-page directory of associations, equipment sources, and outfitters concludes the work. An adequate introduction to the sport; for public libraries.?Kathryn Ruffle, Coll. of New Caledonia Lib., Prince George, B.C.
