Amazon.com Review

Food for Little Fingers by Victoria Jenest could make a big difference for parents from the time their children start solid food up to about 2 years of age. On the premise that children eat better if they can pick up food with their hands while they phase into using utensils, Jenest gives 117 recipes for wholesome temptations she created for her three children. To keep her family away from all refined sweeteners and white flour, she uses fruit juices for sweetening and only whole-wheat flour. New parents will find important advice on what is safe for babies and toddlers to avoid choking and help minimize allergy problems. Many of the recipes look good enough that Mom and Dad won't mind sharing them.

Product Description

A guide to cooking for children without white flour, salt, or added sugar provides 117 recipes that provide for health, taste, and convenience, from Munchkin Meatloaf and Peter Rabbit Pasta to Georgie Porgie Spinach Pies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for older babies and toddlers!, March 13, 2000
By A Customer
If you are going to only buy one baby/toddler cookbook, buy this one. The recipes are easy and babies love them. And all of the recipes are full of flavor and nutrients (not sugar and salt like the processed toddler food you buy at the store). My son is the pickiest eater alive and won't eat fruit and veggies in their natural state. However, he will eat them in these finger food recipes. Most of these recipes freeze well so you can thaw out individual portions as needed. I've recommended this book to many, many friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast and nutritious...and my child will actually eat it!, March 6, 2000
By A Customer
I highly recommend this book. My 1 yr. old refused to eat vegetables unless I pureed them and spooned them in - this book changed that. He will now pick up veggies himself and is eating a lot more. The recipes are fast, nutritious and can be frozen, so it is easy to make a batch and then freeze the leftovers for a day when you have less time.

5.0 out of 5 stars A necessity for young eaters..., December 4, 1999
By A Customer
This book is great to start your children to a lifetime of good eating. My list of toddler foods was limited and they wouldn't eat much of what I gave them. This book changed all that. They like most everything in it and I know that they are eating healthy, tasty dishes. At first it can seem like you are cooking all the time, but most recipes can be frozen for later use. You will be surprised at what your child will eat! I recommended this book to my pediatrician who thinks it's great. I couldn't get along without it.
