Hi, all! Its time to gear up for Vampire Babylon again since there
are two releases waiting in the wings in August and September. Next month FIRST BLOOD hits the shelves, and
it includes my VB novella Double the Bite.
Then September will bring BREAK OF DAWN, VB, Book Three.
But lets talk about the anthology first.
FIRST BLOOD features four novellas, from
Susan Sizemore, Erin McCarthy, Meljean Brook, and little old me. Im in the middle of reading the advanced
readers copy at the moment, and Im telling you that theres some vampire
steam in store for you all. All the
novellas have a noir tone, but first and foremost, theyre romances that give
the main couples happily ever afters.
Those of you who read a lot of urban fantasy, which is the main stomping
ground for Vampire Babylon, know that the sub-genre features more romantic
elements than happy endings, but Berkley (which is affiliated with Ace Books)
invited me to write in this collection, and since Berkley Sensation provides
paranormal romances, Double the Bite went in a bit of a different
direction. However, you can still
expect that noir darkness from the storyand for the many eagle-eyed readers
out there who have taken note of Sorins missing vampire daughters, the story
will fill you in on where those naughty girls have been and, more importantly,
why they stayed away from the Hollywood Underground.
As I mentioned, the sensuality level is on high for these
tales, so be prepared for some heat!
There's a contest on my site, too, and this month Im giving away a signed
copy of NIGHT RISING, Vampire Babylon, Book One, the signed first chapter of Double the Bite, and a
bookplate-signed copy of Cherie Feathers ART OF DESIRE. Just go to www.crystal-green.com to enter!
Until next time, have a safe, fun summer! Best, Chris/Crystal

I hope spring is bright for you all so far. : )
A while ago, a friend and I traveled part of Route
66 because I had an idea for a chick-lit book.
While that story never came to be, I kept notes, so when it was
time to think of a new Blaze, I thought, Why not use this as a setting since I
loved it so much? ONE FOR THE ROAD, this month's release, was born
from this trip, and if you want to catch a peek of the adventure I had with
Desire and Romantic Suspense author Sheri WhiteFeather, you can go to my site under the "photo album" section and see the pictures.
And speaking of books (or even a series) that I hold dear,
Ive got a little Vampire Babylon news.
You all know that MIDNIGHT REIGN, Vampire Babylon, Book Two, was out in
February (and its still on shelves), and that book three, BREAK OF DAWN, is
out in September. But guess what?
I have the cover for
the VB-related novella that will be appearing in Septembers FIRST BLOOD
anthology.
Isnt it gorgeous? I
tell you, I have the best luck with covers, knock on wood. : )
Meanwhile, at www.crystal-green.com,
youll see that my contest has been updated. You can also get a sexy peek at a ONE FOR THE ROAD excerpt. I'd love it if you came on by!
Have a great month, and I'll "talk" to you again soon. Chris/Crystal

Hi! Hope everyone is doing well out there. : )
As far as my life goes, 2008 is going to be quite the year, with eight releases coming out. Three Vampire Babylon stories, three Special Editions, and two Blazes!
Last month, MIDNIGHT REIGN, Vampire Babylon, Book Two, hit the shelves --and thank you to everyone who purchased it! ;) But I've got another book out this month that you mignt want to know about....
MOMMY AND THE MILLIONAIRE is the first installment in my new Suds
Club miniseries, which will consist of three stories (March, June, and October). Heres what the back cover says:
As soon as a desperate David Chandler walked into the
small-town Laundromat, his stained shirt vanished from his mind. His new focus: the beautiful woman at the
center of the Suds Club.
But the dynamic Naomi Shannon wasnt looking for loveshe
was four months pregnant, and memories of her failed relationship still
stung. Little did she know her new
friend Dave wasnt the regular guy he seemed.
On the run from his life as a New York City captain of industry, the
big-city tycoon was in search of something to fill the void in his heart. Had he finally found what he was looking
foror would the relationship come out ruined in the wash?
A big element that connects these books is the Suds
Club Laundromat, where friends meet and greet each other. It was entertaining to have such a warm
gathering place. But there are four
other elements that those of you whove been reading my books for a while might
recognize. First, the hero is David
Chandler, the brother of Lucas Chandler from THE PLAYBOY TAKES A WIFE (July,
2007). Several of you wrote to me
asking for Davids book, so here it is!
Second, early in my career, I wrote a five-book miniseries called Kanes
Crossing, and I decided to make the heroine of this story one of its
citizens. Third, if you read INNUENDO,
a Blaze from a couple of years ago, you might recognize a restaurant that David
and Naomi go toSullivans, the New Orleans style eatery Murphy Sullivan opened
with his cousin Kyle. Lastly, the soap
opera, Flamingo Beach, from my first Blaze PLAYMATES plays a big part in
Laundromat life.
I hope you have fun hunting down these allusions, but I also hope you stop by www.crystal-green.com to enter the latest version of my contest. There'll be two winners this month, both receiving nine Special Editions/Romance books from my back | |
