4.0 out of 5 stars This is hollywood stuff!, August 2, 1999
By A Customer
This is the new writer yet again taking this series to new and exciting levels. This series was starting to stagnate a bit and needed to go forward to new horizons - and it is!

4.0 out of 5 stars Axler maintains high level of excitement with this book, November 7, 1997
By A Customer
In his latest "Deathlands book, Axler puts a new twist on the adventures of Ryan and his company. When they jump into a previous gateway, they find it is badly damaged and not safe to reuse. (This is the gateway in the everglades where Ryan et.all wound up at an amusement park.) They make their way north by boat only to strike a mine planted by a mad "Admiral". Krysty and Jak are lost at sea. Ryan and the rest are rescued by mutant sea creatures. The rest of the book maintains this level of action. The one worrysome part of the book is not in fact a part of the novel. Normally, the publisher lists the next book in the series. This time he did not.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast paced & action-packed, November 26, 1997
By A Customer
"Watersleep" is one of my favorite Deathlands of the last year. It has a good villain, interesting setting and interesting new characters, like the Dwellers. Dean is back with the group in this one, and he's a little more independent now than he was before he went off to school. Deathlands has really picked up over the last year or so. I was about ready to switch over to the new Axler series, Outlanders, but "Watersleep" convinced me to stay with it. Highly recommended.
