In a headline-current military romance, Major Pete Trayhern is overseeing construction of a power plant in northern Afghanistan. His chief supervisor, Cali Roland, is a redheaded woman far too attractive for Pete's taste. They do manage to work well together while suppressing a growing attraction. Cali, for example, is fluent in Pashto and tells Pete to fire his untrustworthy translator, while Pete has to ride Cali about deadlines, budget compliance, and wearing her flak jacket. The two agonize over their feelings for each other and how and when to act on them until Cali is captured by the Taliban and almost killed. Now forced to admit his long-suppressed love for Cali, Pete takes her home to his family in Montana to help her heal. Gradually, the two warriors work out their fears and differences and figure out how to commit to a shared, married future. Mary K. Chelton

The could have been good on its own. But since this is part of a series you expect to make a comparison. I have read all Morgan's Merceneries books. For some reason the stories of Morgan's legacy (his children) aren't that good. There was something missing in this book. If you buy this book don't expect too much from it. I am used to all the action Morgan's mercenaries brought. This one lacked that action. I hope her following books are better.

This book is not so bad.The action is a little interesting. However, the love sences is a little boring. I enjoy going through the mistery of this Book but at setting lenth it got boring to me. So if you buy this book,, you should expect a little excitment and a little sleepiness.
