4.0 out of 5 stars Humorous and heart tugging at the same time, February 12, 2008
By Tracy Vest (Northern California) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
With a son dying of a rare disease and the clock ticking for finding a cure, Kerri Sullivan does what any desperate mother would do - blackmail a billionaire into donating money to fund the research. Once Nathan King is reluctantly on board, he insists that Kerri assist him in getting the permits for his flagship condo towers in return, to prove to the citizens of Seattle that the billionaire has a heart after all. But Nathan doesn't count on losing his newly found heart to the feisty widow, nor does she since she has made a pact with God to give up a personal life to insure her son survives the same disease that killed Nathan's son. With the media at their tales, an absent minded scientist racing against fate to find a cure, and an estranged sister out for vengeance, the duo has their work cut out for them.

Mallery's latest novel combines witty dialogue, romance, and humor to tell a heart-tugging story of survival, with a mother's undying love at the forefront. It'll have you laughing and crying simultaneously. Definitely one of her better novels - right up there with my personal favorite, "Falling for Gracie."

5.0 out of 5 stars A story of a mother's love!, January 1, 2008
Single mom Kerri Sullivan will do anything to get the funding for the research that could save her nine-year-old son, Cody from deadly Gilliar's Disease, even if it means accosting billionaire Nathan King, while he is having lunch. Nathan had lost his own son Daniel to the disease six years ago. Dr. Abram Wallace had been making great strides in the research for the disease, when there had been an explosion in the lab killing three scientists, four members of the cleaning crew and two security guards. The lab was shut down and a lot of employees were laid off. The small town of Songwood, Washington was slowly dying too. Now only Dr. Wallace and his assistant were working on the cure. Kerri begs Nathan to give the fifteen million dollars that Dr. Wallace said that he would needs to reopen the lab. Nathan refuses to give the money for the research.

Kerri has a way to blackmail Nathan that he will not be able to refuse the money for the research. Nathan was in need of a more favorable image in the news to get the permits for the zoning and funding that he needs for his newest construction site. Nathan will give the money to Dr. Wallace in exchange for Kerri and Cody going out with Nathan so he will be see in a more favorable light by the press. Nathan has a reporter that had been reporting anything that would trash Nathan's character. Will the reporter find out about the deal that Nathan and Kerri had made?

Susan Mallery's, "Accidently Yours" will make you want to take your own children into your arms and be thankful that they are healthy. The emotions in this story will make you cry and still you want to help this mother find a way to make her son well again. There are several obstacles that Nathan and Kerri must overcome to find the way to true love, so come along on the journey.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Accidentally Yours" -- you'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll believe, December 29, 2007
By J. R. Benjamin (Duvall, WA, USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
"Accidentally Yours" is the story of Kerri Sullivan, a woman facing almost insurmountable odds. Kerri's son, Cody, has been diagnosed with an incurable and terminal disease. The only researcher tackling Cody's disease has abandoned his research due to an accident in the lab. Kerri knows she must secure funding to persuade the researcher to get back to work; she decides to use her determination and her daring to persuade local billionaire Nathan King to write a check for a few dollars. Fifteen million, as a matter of fact.

Nathan King's son died from the same disease. He is determined to not get involved. With anyone. Especially not with a mom gutsy enough to transform herself into a superhero to give her son courage, and most especially not with the son that touches his heart as well.

I've read many of Susan's books. I've never read anything like "Accidentally Yours". It came from somewhere special. There is magic in these pages. Magic, humor, a few tears, and a wonderful story.

I hope you'll love it as much as I do.
