Product Description
In 1888, Colorado was a dangerous place for a girl on the run. But Honor McCall had to take her chances to escape from her cruel, drunken uncle and start a new life. She never imagined that she'd be rescued by a handsome young minister, or find a place to call home in his church.

It was more than she deserved, more than she could ever repay. So how could she stay on--accepting charity while living a lie, hiding the truth about the danger that stalked her, hiding the love in her heart for a man who might never return her feelings?

She had to leave, the sooner the better, but she just couldn't seem to go--and then Christmas brought a special miracle. . .

About the Author
Molly Noble Bull has written three previous romance novels. She lives with her husband, three grown sons and their families in the beautiful Texas hill country.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Winter Pearl is a fine, expressive work..., May 19, 2005
By Craig A. Hart (Grand Rapids, Michigan) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
For Honor Rose McCall, existence was one continuous nightmare. Life with her ruthless uncle had been horrible enough while her Aunt Harriet had been alive, but now that she had passed away, the nightmare threatened to grow ever darker. Under the threat of marriage to her uncle, Lucas Scythe, Honor flees from her home in a desperate attempt to escape what she would consider a fate worse than death. Not willing to let Honor go, Uncle Lucas trails her, fully intending to drag her back for his bride.

Finding help in the form of a young minister, who kindly assists her in any way possible, Honor begins struggling within herself. Although she has much to learn, she realizes that she does not deserve the kindness being shown her and knows she must leave as soon as possible, all the while harboring love for a man who may never reciprocate her feelings or even know they exist. As she waits for the time when it will be possible for her to leave, the long shadow of danger still follows her.

The Winter Pearl is an uplifting story set in Colorado's dangerous days of 1888. Set near Christmas, this captivating novel evokes the spirit of the holidays and leaves the reader feeling warm and fulfilled. The Winter Pearl is a fine, expressive work and has the able fingerprints of Molly Noble Bull on each absorbing page. Two thumbs up!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Winter Pearl, November 6, 2004

THE WINTER PEARL is a wonderful book full of hope and forgiveness in the Lord. Nobody depicts the lives of ordinary folks in the Old West, and the part faith played in their lives, than Molly Noble Bull.

5.0 out of 5 stars This one's a keeper!, March 16, 2007
Following the death of the beloved aunt who raised her as her own, Honor McCall flees the only home she has ever known to escape her uncle's unwelcome attentions. Her penniless flight into the unknown sets off a series of events that will lead the young lady to a new town, a job with caring employers, new friends, and possibly even a chance at love. Most importantly, the path she chooses - while fraught with danger, deceit and heartache - ultimately brings her face to face with the God she has known only as a distant deity, to be feared and revered. That He might truly care about Honor McCall is a new concept to the girl, and one her distrustful heart has some trouble accepting - especially since she can't imagine herself ever forgiving the uncle she fears and detests. She's not exactly the picture of a perfect pastor's wife ... can the handsome minister she falls for ever love someone with a past like Honor's?

Winter Pearl is far and away the most captivating historical romance I've read in a very long time. Molly Noble Bull's writing style is warm and real, and her true-to-life characters move across the pages almost visually. The story is tightly woven, and includes rich, accurate details of its historical era.

This page-turner is a pearl of a tale, and the author strung each literary bead with precision and care. A must-read!
