From Library Journal
Six-year-old Mickie writes to Santa requesting a new mommy?and then Aunt Sarah (her late mother's sister) appears on their doorstep, stunning Mickie's father. He hasn't seen Sarah since she unsuccessfully sued him for custody of Mickie years ago?and the stage is set for a romance that promises confrontation and conflict as well as forgiveness and reconciliation as the protagonists sort out the past and fall in love. Wolverton's (This Side of Paradise, Steeple Hill, 1998) nicely done descriptions and good chemistry between the hero and heroine add interest and energy to the story; unfortunately, the heroine's protracted angst over her infertility and the hero's possible reaction to it detract. Nevertheless, the generally likable characters, warmly drawn holiday setting, and casually interspersed references to prayer and faith add charm. This should please readers who like their romances sweet, gentle, and family-centered. Wolverton lives in Zachary, LA.
