Product Description

She's about to give everyone something to talk about!

Nothing can put a damper on a wedding day quite like discovering your Mr. Right is Mr. Totally Beyond Wrong, which is why Kelly Atwood knocks him flat and boards a bus to a tiny Washington town. What Kelly doesn't know is that she's accidentally taken off with a suitcase full of lots of money and now some unsavory characters are determined to get it back.

The townsfolk are unperturbed by the gorgeous outsider -- even if her skirts are too short and her hair is too big. In fact, the local busybodies are already trying to match her up with blue-eyed local hero -- upright attorney Sam Grayson.

One look at Kelly, and Sam gets hot around his too-tight collar. This runaway bride is definitely disturbing his peace, and he's got enough problems. But now big trouble is heading to Paradise, right on Kelly's stiletto heels -- and passion may temporarily have to take a back seat to a more pressing pursuit -- running for her life.

About the Author

Welcome to my wacky books! Life is nothing if not humorous, and I find my inspiration for stories in the oddest places. I'm pretty sure I found the seeds of Risky Business in a cartoon. Picture me with two kids, late for school, scribbling ideas on a paper towel.

Most of all I am having a lifelong romance with old movies. If my books feel like 1939 black-and-white romantic comedies, then I've done my job. I'm sure you'll find the "ghosts" of many a vintage film in my books. Now if we could make them into musicals, that would be heaven! (Swell up music here ...

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is "Paradise"!, August 10, 2003
Kelly Atwood's new husband Raymond is out cold. Good thing she can deliver a left hook, after being slapped by Raymond when she questioned him about the cocaine she found in her honeymoon luggage while looking for space for more shoes. After ensuring Raymond is still breathing, she flees in his BMW, later boarding a bus headed north. Here she meets up with the incredulous Myrtle Crabtree, hometown Paradise, Washington. Myrtle persuades Kelly to hide out with her in Paradise, which at the time sounds like a great idea. Little does Kelly know that Paradise is just that - the town she has been dreaming about her entire life. Also, hometown to Sam Grayson, too good to be true local hunk, recently returned to the family law practice after life had dealt him some low blows.

The eccentric townsfolk of Paradise have made it their job to get Sam and Kelly together. Not a difficult task, considering Sam and Kelly ignite whenever they meet. However, there are a few issues that need to be looked into. Namely, Kelly's three hour marriage, a briefcase full of money found in the trunk of Raymond's car, and Raymond being found dead. Suddenly, Kelly's main concern is keeping her newfound friends and lover safe from the thugs chasing the briefcase full of money.

This is a delightful story of life in a small town, and how everyone knows everyone else's business. You will laugh out loud many times while reading this book, get lost in the budding romance between Sam and Kelly, and wish for your own personal "Paradise"!

5.0 out of 5 stars Who's that girl?, July 21, 2004
By Emily Flippin Maruna "flip_em8" (Portland, OR United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Kelly Atwood graduates from runaway to runaway bride when she finds out her husband of three hours isn?t at all the man she thought him to be. After knocking him out cold, she jumps in his BMW and sets out to make a new life for herself. But little does she know, a bad man and a lot of baggage can be hard to shake, even when you?ve found Paradise.

Sam Grayson is Paradise?s attorney at law. He?s already seen one girlfriend end up in the slammer and isn?t interested in a replay. So when knock-out Kelly Applebee comes to town, he tries to keep his distance. Unfortunately, there?s not a lot of room in a small town, his helpful nature is getting the better of him, and her tattooed long legs are driving him crazy.

In this laugh-out-loud romantic comedy, kooky characters and hilarious situations are as everyday as Main Street, USA. Suzanne Macpherson?s ?Talk of the Town? has got the sizzle and the giggle factors down pat, with enough action thrown in to keep the story good and entertaining.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute and Sweet Book, February 21, 2004
By M. E. Newell (Marietta, Georgia, United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Kelly Atwood marriage starts out with knocking out her new husband cold, after finding drugs in her suitcase. So whats a girl to do, but run. She ends running to Paradise Washington and in to the arms of local golden boy Sam Grayson. Who, with the help of the town falls hard for Kelly.
After reading the first book by Ms. Macpherson, I was looking forward to this book. It was a good, but the only thing that bug me was that the good people of Paradise, including our hero just seem to perfect to me. But still this is a good book for a rainy day or car trip.
