From Library Journal
Part 1, "Where We Stand in the Battle Against Cancer," contains chapters on prevention, cancer risks, treatment, rehabilitation, genetics, and harmful "fad remedies." Part 2 has chapters (symptoms, diagnosis, etiology, treatment) on cancers of various parts of the body and cancer of the young; each chapter is by an appropriate specialist. Helpful line drawings, a directory of organizations, and a glossary are included. (Index not seen.) More comprehensive than Jay S. Roth's All About Cancer ( LJ 9/1/85), this is a well-done, useful guide for anyone who wishes to understand cancer generally or to read about a specific one. Recommended for public, academic, and health science libraries. Jean E. Crampon, Southern Illinois Univ. Sch. of Medicine Lib., Springfield American Health Magazine Eds. with Daniel Goleman & Tara Bennett-Goleman. The Relaxed Body Book: a high-energy anti-tension program.
