In this study of "the most analyzed, overgeneralized, stereotyped, and caricatured generation" in American history, Light, a social scientist and special adviser to U.S. Senator John Glenn, focuses primarily on the political agendaor lack of itof this politically uncommitted generation. Using wide-ranging demographic research that includes public opinion surveys, he tries to explain how baby boomers have been shaped by their unique social and political history. He discusses their differences from other generations, as well as their very real inter -generational differences, often glossed over in popular accounts.
