Amazon.com Review

Suzi Landolphi has an interesting approach to sexual counseling: she offers extremely explicit examples from her own past, such as how she and her boyfriend, both teenagers and neither ready for intercourse, developed a clothed intercourse simulation that brought both to orgasm. These stories illustrate points about how sex can enhance self-esteem, rather than confuse or degrade an individual. Her message isn't startling--sex should make you feel good--but it comes across with a refreshingly earnest tone. It helps that Landolphi has had an interesting sexual history and feels comfortable writing about it; she makes it comfortable for us to read about it. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

From Library Journal

A comedienne and private consultant whose company promotes safe sex and presents information on AIDS to school assemblies, Landolphi here aims to teach women how to obtain a great sex life and, perhaps more importantly, to build healthy relationships. According to the author, a healthy sex life begins with exploring the cultural attitudes we developed in our youth. Landolphi provides advice on how to achieve equality in a sexual partnership, develop sexual self-confidence, and take charge of your sex life. She also emphasizes that we all need love and acceptance more than sex, that honest communication builds trust, and that trust fosters the best sex. Appropriate chapters on safe sex and learning from your mistakes are also included. Although there is a plethora of such books on the market, Landolphi's readable work is packed with common sense. 4.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Approach, January 24, 2003
By A Customer
The book starts out with a lot of background on the author's life and sex life. It can get a little long, but I think she needed to do it in order to open up herself and let everything come out until the final 1/3 of the book which really gets to the point of things.

Basically she stresses that you need physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual components to all work together in order to achieve the best sex, the best love. Many times, I pounded on a page of the book because she said something exactly right. I mean, I didn't have the words, but once she explained certain things, I just knew that's what was in my heart.

She touches on "the soul" and about the positive spiritual nature of sex and love. Using herself as an example helps also because you can appreciate how important and useful individuality is as a component of great sex. Her ideas of seaking greater and greater pleasures with each other versus focusing on orgasms, intercourse, and positions is wonderful.
