Product Description

Millions of women across America have had it up to here with trying to have it all-while never finding the time to appreciate what is right in front of them. This engaging new book from a fresh new voice reminds women of the wonderful life choices they have already made, and helps them to figure out where they want to go from here. It offers all women, of all ages, a chance to rewrite their "to-do" list, and put themselves at the top.

Forget Perfect is a smart and funny look at how trying to be perfect actually gets in the way of happiness, and how letting go of being perfect means raising standards to live life to the fullest and appreciate the things that really matter.

About the Author

Lisa Earle McLeod is a working mother, a motivational speaker, and a 15-year marriage veteran who's done the laundry, worked for a jerk, overdrawn her checking account, and lived to tell about it.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book changed my life..., December 7, 2003
By A Customer
...truly! We spend all of our lives WANTING - thinking something out there will make us happy. If we have the perfect body, skin, man, career, kids, whatever...THEN we will be happy. I have truly spent my whole life believing this, that if I could somehow make myself BETTER, I'd be happy. This book is like a thump on the head. Hell-oooo??? No one is perfect, and the people who appear perfect, well, no one wants to be around them anyway! This book makes you realize that the GOOD stuff is already here. Cherish your friends and family. Be a real person. Be yourself!

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspired by Forget Perfect!, November 14, 2001
By A Customer
I was the epitome of the woman who strives for perfect! Lisa McLeod's book got me thinking about what might happen if the socks in the sock drawer weren't organized by color and if I didn't vacumn at least twice a week. Imagine . . . more time doing things that I really want to be doing!! It's not rocket science, but Lisa makes this topic really funny and entertaining. I think thousands of women will identify with what she has to say. It was almost as if she was talking directly to me. I'm recommending this book to my book club. I can only imagine what a great post-holiday discussion this will make. FLASH: Who cares if every package doesn't have a unique bow? I'd rather spend time having a few friends over to enjoy the tree. (And, we'll just close the door on the messy rooms!)
A big thanks to Lisa for getting me off the perfect thing and focused on what's really important. (And, by the way, my husband thanks you, too!!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Forget Perfect is my new motto, November 7, 2001
By Debby Richmond (Solana Beach, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This is a must-read book. It's funny, meaningful, and reminded me of what's really important. One definite is to tear up my "should list" forever. I have a teenage daughter and I can't wait to give it to her. Young girls feel such a need to be perfect and I think this book will help them gain some perspective. After all, who likes "perfect" people anyway?
