Product Description
Many additions to our knowledge of liver diseases have occurred since the publication of the first edition of this book in 1980. There is now much to add to the descriptions of hepatic histopathology in order that the book may continue to provide an up-to-date comprehensive account of the subject to the hospital histopathologist. The more important changes deal with adequacy and procurement of biopsy specimens, intrahepatic biliary diseases from various causes, viral hepatitis, alcoholic liver, chronic hepatitis and drug-induced liver injury. There is one new chapter concerned with liver damage in malnutrition and in various gastrointestinal diseases. There are a number of additional photomicrographs and the opportunity has been taken to replace certain appearances with better examples. This new edition, therefore, provides a concise account of liver histopathology necessary for biopsy interpretation. This book should be of interest to hepatic pathologists and all those interested in diseases of the liver.
