5.0 out of 5 stars The best Management book of all time, July 5, 1999
By A Customer
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I read this book in the original edition when it was titled the Greatest Management Principle. While a simple and straight-forward book, it reveals the greatest of all management principles. I have read hundreds of management books over the last 30 years of my business career and nothing has told the real truth of motivating people like this book. It should be required reading for anyone who wishes to manage people.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific book...., November 16, 2004
By Scott McKain (Indianapolis, IN) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Getting Results (Paperback)
It's beyond me how anyone could not think this is one of the great management books of all time. I read a previous review that was critical of the "hehavior rewarded, behavior repeated" philosophy of this book -- but what that reviewer evidently fails to realize is that LeBoeuf's point is that rewards aren't just bonus checks and award trips. Attention from management, personal praise and mentoring are all vitally important aspects of the principle. What could possibly be the alternative? No praise? No management attention and encouragement? To reduce Dr. LeBoeuf's sound research to the erroneous assertion of a previous poster does a terrible injustice to potential readers searching for a work of great insight that is also a great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent summary of techniques to increase productivity, February 1, 1999

This review is from: Getting Results (Paperback)
It would be of tremendous help to obtain details on how to convey the presented practices with effective management techniques such as Management By Objective.

1.0 out of 5 stars Wrong slant on motivation
It's been many years since I read this book, so my recollection may be off. As I recall, the GMP is something like "that which gets rewarded gets done. Read more
