Slow moving but not bad, October 22, 2001
One summer weekend four years ago Rose was invited to Angelica's beautiful house. Rose couldn't believe it back then. It was a dream come true! She couldn't wait to enjoy the pool and just party while recording her great experiences in her diary. However someone turned up dead that weekend and Rose's weekend was ruined. It turns out Angelica's dad's partner in law Frannie was murdered that weekend and he was the last one to see her. Four years later the police have reopened the case and to Rose's horror steal her diary in which she wrote her thoughts that weekend. To protect her family Rose steals the diary back. However it seems someone is out to get Rose. Whoever Rose is protecting doesn't seem to want her to protect them! Who could it be? This book was kind of slow moving. I would recommend you borrow it at the library. I was sorely disappointed in Caroline's new book and I really didn't think the ending in this story sounded right. It was too sudden and just didn't fit in. To sum it up it was an okay book.

A Kid's Review
She reached for the door handle, but there wasn't one. She ran her hand over knobs and latches, armrests and protrusions. There was no way out! It was like the back of the police car. You could get in by yourself but you needed help getting out. "I removed it, Rose," said the deep voice of the murderer. "There is no way out, no point in trying." This is one scene from the book Fatality by Caroline B. Cooney. It is a very action pack thriller written by a wonderful author, known for her mysteries. Rose Lymond is an average teen, that is, with one exception. Rose knows secrets the cops want. Four years ago, Frannie Bailey was killed. Not just an accident, it was a murder. The weekend of the murder, Rose was on her way to spend the weekend at Angelica Lofft's summerhouse. In fact, they were there minutes before the victim was murdered. When the cops reopen the case, they immediately go to Rose's house. They take her diary from the year of the murder. She steals it back and destroys all the evidence. From then on, Rose's normal everyday life is turned up side down. How far will the murderer go to keep her quiet? This is a must read for anyone that loves mystery. This story really makes you understand what Rose is going through. You feel scared for her life at times, while at other times you are overjoyed and proud. Sometimes you just won't believe what you're reading. It's a really touching story that shows you the real meaning of life, love, and forgiveness. We would definitely recommend this book to anyone 12 and up that knows what it's like to have a secret that you'd do anything to keep quiet. By: Fajitas and Shari Schultzman

A Kid's Review
The book Fatality is a really great book. This book is full of suspense and thrills. I like this book because it was so exciting. I just couldn't put the book down. Most of Caroline Cooney's books are well written. Her books have a lot of twists. when you least expect something to happen it does. What I don't like is how in the beginning it is kind of slow. But then it speeds up quickly. This book is about a girl named Rose. Rose is accused of witnessing a murder. She kept a diary of the year the murder happened. This diary was full of secrets. Secrets that she didn't want anyone to know about. Then the police come four years after the murder. They start questioning her. Rose refuses to tell them anything. She claims that she dosen't know anything. The police decide to take her diary; just in case there is any evidence. But she won't let them, she takes the diary back. What she dosen't know is that someone else knows what she put in the diary. Rose's life gets of track and messed up as the police accuse her of protecting the murderer. But whats on everybodys mind is if she's protecting the murderer or not. Her friends try to stick up for her but they aren't even sure if she is guilty or not. Rose's parents don't even know whether she is protecting the individual or is really telling the truth. As time went on the police get very frusterated. they start thinking that maybe she is the murderer. When Rose's brother comes to visit he is shocked. Little did he know that she is being accused of the murder. Rose begins to think that anyone will do anything to keep her quiet. I don't want to give away the ending but that is when the real action starts. I really do recommend this book to anyone who enjoys to read action-filled books.
