5.0 out of 5 stars I'm {NOT} afraid anymore!!!!!, May 1, 2009
The Blob - the original starring Mr. Steve McQueen - I was like about 5 when I first saw this movie. I was absolutely scared out of my mind!!! I'm 37 now, and have FINALLY conquered my fear of the Blob, all thanks to this book. I'm very serious, here. Around 30+something years of never-ending, undying fear, afraid to go to the movies {due to the movie scenes when the Blob came from the projection room} by myself, very violent Blob dreams, afraid to own the movies because of massive fear of the Blob coming out of my {don't have anymore} vhs copy. I also used to have the 45 {theme song} as well, some time ago, but was afraid of that, too. ------------- However, yesterday, me and my husband stopped at a thrift store, looked around, and whilst I was looking through the book section, just sitting by itself, there this book was - all by it's lonsome. I kept on purposefuly walking past it, wanting to get it, but not wanting to get it all at the same time. I forced myself to get the dang thing. Got home, cleaned it up some, and sat it down ontop of my t.v. stand. It sat there for a while, I decided to pick it up. I skimmed through it, then I put it back down, still kind of afraid. A couple of more hours passed by, I decided to pick it up again. I read some and realized that it's very good, actually. Now, normally, w/any reference at all of the Blob, anything that would trigger my mind to think about it, ALWAYS that same night when I'd go to bed, I would always wake up from having the most awefullest, most very violent dreams of the Blob. This book sat on my t.v. stand ALL NIGHT, I woke up this morning, NOT having dreamt of the Blob---at all!!! You know, I think I just might read the whole book today. I can't believe it, I'm FINALLY free from my fear of the Blob!!!!! Yay!!!!!
