Amazon.com Review

The authors of the popular We Don't Die discuss some 90 cases of after-death communication in an attempt to discover what happens when we pass on. This is a must read for those confused by messages from departed loved ones, those who wonder why they haven't been given a message, and those who want to know more about the mystery of the afterlife. Love Beyond Life addresses questions of love and death without crossing the boundary into hokeyness or sentimentalism. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Product Description

Despite our cultural aversion to death, two in five Americans--over 40 million people--have experienced contact with the dead. What do these communications tell us about life here and beyond? What can these glimpses beyond the veil teach us about acceptance, love, and faith? How can they help us to resolve our grief, incorporate a loved one's death into our daily lives, and draw purpose and meaning from unspeakable tragedy?

Joel Martin and Patricia Romanowski, authors of the classic, We Don't Die, here explore the power of after-death communication--deathbed visions, dream visitations, apparitions, and other phenomena--to comfort us, to strengthen us, and to create a new, life-affirming notion of what it means to grieve and to die. In the midst of life we live with death, a fact we are culturally conditioned to deny. We avoid the dying, the dead, and the bereaved at every opportunity and then wonder why we feel so alone when death touches our lives. Love Beyond Life is an invaluable resource for those who have lost someone dear, and for anyone who yearns to make sense of life's final journey.

5.0 out of 5 stars A well researched, fascinating follow-up to previous work., April 3, 1998
By dimatteo@gate.net (Stuart, Florida) - See all my reviews
Having lost a son I have great interest in this type of information and have read dozens of books on the subjects of life after death and after death contact. They range from feel good to wacky, with some truly imaginative theories offered for consideration. This book is a thoughtful piece of research which grew from a need to verify previous experience. (This team also wrote the "George Anderson" books.) I like the organization of the work and the handling of the material. This book presents descriptions of the many experiences that people can have after the passing of a loved one . One type of experience the authors call retrocognition, I experienced but found no reference to in other books. In fact, until I read this book, I didn't know what had happened to me. If you've lost a loved one and are wondering if that "weird" thing that happened to you means you've also lost your mind, you will be comforted to find that you are not only sane but have lots of company in experiencing the Love Beyond Life of loved ones who have died. If you have not lost a loved one but are searching for answers; this book is also for you. It will make you examine what you already believe and explore new areas of thought. READ THIS BOOK!

5.0 out of 5 stars Confirming and Comforting, February 12, 2000

(REAL NAME)
Joel Martin and Patricia Romanowski are a phenomenal writing team when it comes to literature on the after-life. After my tragic loss I was doubting my belief in the after life but, after reading Love Beyond Life: The Healing Powers of After Death Communications as well as We Don't Die, We Are Not Forgotten and Forever Our Children, I found the confirmation and comfort that our departed loved ones continue to go on and are with us.It is with great saddness that I had to look for these books but, I am grateful to both Mr. Martin and Ms.Romanowski that they have created such reassuring and reaffirming material.

5.0 out of 5 stars A POWERFULLY THOUGHT- PROVOKING BOOK!, September 21, 2001
No matter what one's religious beliefs may be, I think there is a part of us that wants to believe there is more to life than the body which carries us through this world. For people like myself who believe in Buddhist Philosophies, this is particularly true.

It does not matter what your religious background may be, "Love Beyond Life" is purely inspirational and compassionate reading. One is left with a clearer understanding that just because we can no longer see our dear departed ones standing beside us, that does not mean their presence is not here. Apart from helping us to understand the concept that life does not end with death, the book gives us a deeper appreciation of life and the importance of expressing our love to those close to us while they are still ours to cherish. To take each day for granted is one of the most foolish mistakes we can make for tomorrow is promised to no one. The book is highly recommended and deserving of a five star rating.
