Vasco, Leader of the Tribe is about a young rat that lives in the bounties of the harbor. But, one day, he finds out that his tribe has mysteriously disappeared. Eventually, he decides to leave the harbor to find a new home. Along the way, he meets many trusted friends and daunting enemies. The story jumped from topic to topic, and every time a problem was solved, a new one would arise. This sometimes made it hard to follow, such as when he met a harmless enemy and all of a sudden another animal kills two of them. But, through and through, it was still a suspenseful and enthralling book.

Through rich detail and greatly descriptive language, the author keeps readers at the edge of their seat, "He looked up... and saw two shiny eyes at the foot of the roots, staring right at him," is just one of the thrilling quotes. Vasco, Leader of the Tribe is a good book despite its mildly harsh language.
