Product Description

Many people believe that once someone becomes a Christian, life is suddenly easy, and problems disappear. This could not be farther from the truth. In fact, Christians often face more challenges, as the same faith that provides them with support and consolation is tested on a daily basis. In THE POWERTOPREVAIL, David Foster explores the paradox of adversity. While obstacles and trials are bound to arise, he asserts it is how people respond to those challenges that determines whether they grow in faith or crumble in defeat. Foster then details a three-point plan that helps to promote a positive response: He says if we choose our attitudes, change our aptitudes, and control our actions, adversity ceases to be a stumbling block and starts to become an opportunity. Practical, hard-hitting, and inspiring, THEPOWERTOPREVAIL is a manual for those who want to make the most of their Christian walk, regardless of their circumstances.

3.0 out of 5 stars A worthwhile addition to your library..., October 2, 2003
By Huntress Reviews (United States) - See all my reviews
Let's face it, Christians have somewhat of a reputation of being goody two shoes ethereal nerds with an easy life provided by fairy god angels. Nothing could be further from the truth. David Foster busts that myth wide open. From both the Old and New Testaments, he brings forth examples to prove that God's chosen people are going to have it tough. That is intimidating, but he also shows that by our attitude to these difficulties, roadblocks can become mountains to conquer. Wasting no words, he makes clear and concise points regarding depression, regrets, rejection, burnout, etc.

*** Fans of Philip Yancey or Alan L. McGinnis will find this to be a worthwhile addition to their library. Maybe reading this will not make the load you have been entrusted with lighter, but it will help build the muscles to carry it. ***
