5.0 out of 5 stars Polished Diamonds, April 13, 2000
By A Customer
This book has a truly excellent selection of quotes. There are no dud quotes or ones that leave you guessing. Lewis Henry has done an admirable editing job.

4.0 out of 5 stars A CLASSIC AMONG QUOTATION BOOKS, June 25, 2009
I've been rereading my copy of Lewis Henry's "Best Quotation For All Occasions" It is a great reference book for quotes. It has a detailed table of contents with over 600 topics listed alphabetically. Need to find a quote on almost any topic you can think of? Pick up this book.
My only criticism is the book gives no information on the time frame of the quote or the people being quoted. I tried to address this in Snappy Sayings: wit & wisdom of the world's greatest minds. Each quotation is followed by the author of the quote with his birth and death year. There is an appendix with a short biography on each individual. Also the print is larger so you don't need a magnifying glass to read the quotes.
Henry's over 500 pages of quotes make this book well worth the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good quotes book, January 5, 2009
This book is full of many interesting quotes from many famous historical figures. The only thing I did not enjoy about this book is the quotes are mostly from the 1500s, 1600s, and 1700s. I was hoping to see some quotes from more modern sources and/or public figures. All and all though it's a great little book with a wealth of interesting quotes in it and for only $7.95 I can't complain :)
