Editorial Reviews

Review
"This book is grounded in reality, providing numerous examples and real-life illustrations of both successes and failures. One of the appeals is that it is so clearly related to the field of high tech manufacturing. ...This book has much to offer." (Strategy, November 2000)

Product Description
"Leading Product Innovation presents a comprehensive and (most importantly) useful framework for understanding how the enterprise innovation engine affects business results, now and for the long term. The book encapsulates literally decades of knowledge and experiences, to give a clear picture of the vital engines of growth, in a well organized presentation blending solid theory with illustrations from real-world applications."–James Bixby, CEO, Sequal, Inc."I found Leading Product Innovation to be a captivating piece of work. The author’s development of innovation as the essential process for corporate renewal is masterful. The coverage and use of analytical techniques relating innovation investment rates to year-over-year revenue growth is stunning. This book is a must read for the bench scientist to the CEO."—Charles P. Holt, Director of the Joseph C. Wilson Center for Research and Technology of Xerox Corporation

5.0 out of 5 stars Leading Product Innovation, April 8, 2003
By Daniel J. Colon III (San Diego, CA, USA) - See all my reviews
Leading Product Innovation by Marv Patterson and John Fenoglio is essential reading for anyone working in the field of product innovation and product development. This book explains very clearly the importance of product innovation to business growth and provides the reader with a detailed mental model of an effective product innovation process. Marv and John also describe how senior management can build an environment that allows the product innovation process to flourish, techniques to improve the process over time, and metrics that can be used to manage the process. I highly recommend Leading Product Innovation for all levels of management in the workplace and for students wishing to learn more about the importance of product innovation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Offer some best practices for product developers, August 26, 2001
By Hoson (Hong Kong) - See all my reviews
This is a good book for product developers. Especially technology driven business like electronic and Internet industry. Most best practices are useful for business where innovation and short cycle-time are important. The two authors reflect their deep understanding of product development and management consultancy. By using balance score card's approach in their recommended best practice, will benefit to most developers.
