Product Description
This book focuses on "successful aging" and how to accomplish it. Combining research and applied perspectives, it is evenly balanced between biological, social, cognitive, and personality theory as it relates to adulthood an aging. This book takes the biopsychosocial perspective that is gaining ascendency in psychology as a whole and applies it to the years of adulthood and old age.

5.0 out of 5 stars Learning to Understand the Aging Environment, July 12, 2001
This text provides detailed information on what happens as we age. It's a little scary - but it certainly gives us insight and skills into working most effectively with the changes caused by aging. It helped me personally to deal better with my Mom, by altering my speech patterns and communication of events. It also lets you see the importance of all the devices out there to assist the elderly - and in turn, encourage the use of these tools.
