Editorial Reviews

Product Description
This is a complete introduction to Pascal for students with no prior knowledge of computers or programming. Carefully designed and presented, the book features programming material (programs, output, and tables) on right-hand pages, with corresponding explanations found on left-hand pages. Different programming techniques are presented, ranging from top-down design and stepwise refinement of pseudocode to the bottom-up approach. The tool box approach is also used to write some of the longer programs. In addition, stepwise refinement is used for many of the longer programs. With its rigorous approach, Turbo Pascal is intended to have even newcomers programming in their first session at the computer.

4.0 out of 5 stars It is a very good introductory book to programming., January 25, 1999
By A Customer
Whereas this book is not very technical, it is a very good book to buy if you are a beginner student to programming. Having been thought by Prof. Marateck himself, I saw that he is very knowledgable in this field and his book is indeed helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 stars for the professor AND his book!, September 8, 2001
By A Customer
His book is great for newbies in programming. His book has many samples with answers and explanations on the adjacent page. His explanations are very straightforward. The book is clutter-free of fancy text formatting and graphical icons.

My only complaint is that Professor Marateck's book cannot replace his fabulous teaching style!
