And there is a lot of good advice for persuasive speaking. If you are getting this book to supplement your preaching, let me recommend to you (2) great books. First, Biblical Preaching by Haddon W. Robinson, this is the first book I purchased when I began preaching earlier last year. It has been very helpful. The second book I would recommend would be, Power in the Pulpit, by Jerry Vines and Jim Shaddix. Aristotle introduced the qualification of 'necessary' and 'possible' premises. And his book on Rhetoric deals on this teaching as well as many others. Shows where he differs from classic Platonian thought and where he agrees. An important work, as all of his works most undoubtedly are as they influenced the Western world for over a thousand years.
