Mr Menges make a great work in showing not well known illustrations or illustrators and well known work not printed but the printing is not very good and a lot of illustrations are not very interesting (old does not means good).
A lot of old master illustrations can now be find on the Web with better colors so it's a pity to see great illustations so badly printed...

Lots of different artists and styles. A really great one stop collection of children's book illustration for a great price. I'm not sure why anyone would find fault with this, as an artist myself, I find this a great book to come back to for inspiration.
