From Booklist
Suffering from the effects of her first diuretic, average citizen Ginny Baxter wanders off from her White House tour in search of a lavatory and winds up handcuffed by Secret Service agents in front of the gorgeous, single, and celibate president of the United States. Stephen Marshall, all-around good guy and head of the country, is immediately smitten with the frank, unpretentious auto repair employee and before long forfeits his celibacy. The happy couple soon discovers, however, the awful pressures placed on those in the public eye, and the difficulty of maintaining a private life in its unforgiving glare. Rogers' lovers are memorable and entertaining. Ginny is refreshing and humorous, even though she comes close, at times, to being crass and foolish, but Stephen Marshall is perfect--patient, a tad unconventional, and extremely lovable--making the plausibility of their relationship moderately suspect. But this is a minor flaw as Rogers' unique premise and brisk dialogue captivate the reader until the final page of this upbeat romance.
