Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal
Grade 3-5. The Boston Tea Party, a much misunderstood occurrence in the history of the U.S., is ably described in this well-written look at the circumstances surrounding the night of December 16, 1773. The people behind the events are introduced, especially Samuel Adams as he deftly leads the citizens of Boston into no-turning-back action against the British tea ships. The book is attractively laid out with a large-print text and numerous, well-placed, black-and-white and color reproductions of engravings and paintings. A visually appealing and clearly conveyed piece of history.?Eunice Weech, M. L. King Elementary School, Urbana, IL

3.0 out of 5 stars Frankly boring., February 17, 2003
By SMF "Pony Club Mom" (Chicago, IL United States) - See all my reviews
This was a disappointing book. History is so much more interesting than this! It was one of the driest, most boring accounts of this event that I have ever read. It is more boring than a textbook (this is the worst criticism...)The only reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 2 is that it does give the facts of the event. If you are looking for a book to interest a child in the Revolutionary War, keep looking.
